Terms and Conditions

Effective 1 January 2026 · Last updated 4 October 2026

1. Who we are, and what these terms cover

StatisticsCourse.com is operated by Healthcare Companion Limited, a company registered in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). These terms govern your use of this website and your subscription to the course. By using the site or enrolling, you agree to them, together with our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

2. Your account

When you enrol you must give accurate information and keep your login details confidential. Your subscription is personal: it is for one named person and must not be shared. You are responsible for activity under your account; tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed it.

3. Subscription and payment

The course is sold as an annual subscription at the price shown at checkout, processed securely by our payment provider. Unless you cancel, your subscription renews automatically each year at the price you joined at — where we have promised your joining price is locked in, that promise holds for as long as your subscription stays continuously active. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current subscription year, and you keep access until then.

4. Cancellation and refunds

As a consumer you normally have a 14-day cooling-off period for online purchases. Because the course is digital content, when you enrol you consent to immediate access, and you acknowledge that once you begin streaming or downloading course content, the statutory right to cancel that purchase ends. If you have a problem, email us — we would always rather fix it than argue about it. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including where content is faulty or not as described.

5. Your licence to the course

All course content — videos, text, data sets, code, graphics and the design of the site — belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by copyright. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to stream and use the content for your own learning for as long as your subscription is active. You must not copy, download (except where we provide a download), record, share, resell, or publish any course content, or make it available to anyone else, without our written permission. Short quotations with attribution in your own academic work are welcome.

6. Live sessions and recordings

Live sessions are part of your subscription. We may record sessions and make recordings available to members; by taking part on camera or microphone you consent to appearing in those recordings. Questions discussed live are general educational guidance, not a review of your study or data.

7. Material you send us

If you send us material — a question, a dataset extract, an achievement for the Hall of Fame, a testimonial — it stays yours. You grant us a licence to use it to run and promote the course. We publish Hall of Fame entries, names and photos only with your permission, and will remove or amend yours whenever you ask. Please do not send us anything confidential, and never send identifiable patient data.

8. What the course is — and is not

The course is education in medical statistics. It is not statistical consultancy on your specific study, not medical advice, and not a substitute for the professional judgement required in patient care or trial conduct. While the course is designed to make you a better researcher, we do not promise any particular outcome — publication, exam success, grant funding or otherwise; the results described on this site are real but individual. You remain responsible for the analyses you perform and the decisions you make.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the site: no attempting to bypass security or payment, no scraping or bulk downloading, no uploading unlawful material, and no using the site in a way that disrupts it for others. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms, including sharing an account or redistributing content; where we terminate for a serious breach, no refund is due for the remainder of the subscription year.

10. Availability and changes

We work to keep the site available, but it is provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted access — maintenance, updates and events outside our control can interrupt it. We improve and update the course over time; we may add, revise or retire individual lessons, provided the course as a whole is not materially reduced during your subscription year.

11. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when you enrolled, for losses connected with your business or professional practice, or for indirect losses; and our total liability to you in connection with the course is limited to the subscription fees you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

12. Ending the agreement

You may stop using the site at any time, and cancel renewal as described above. We may end the agreement if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive — including intellectual property and liability — survive termination.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; the current version will always be posted here with its date. If a change materially affects your subscription, we will tell members by email before it takes effect.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — though if you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep any mandatory consumer protections and court rights of your home country. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
